New team member at Landcare SJ

The team at Landcare SJ is excited to welcome Chris Kennedy. Chris will be working on the State NRM Capacity Grant Measuring NRM Success project.

Here is a short summary from Chris –

Chris Kennedy Landcare Officer at Landcare SJHi, my name is Chris, I have recently moved to Serpentine with my wife and 2-year-old daughter and I am also the new member of the Landcare SJ team, on a six-month contract.

My background is a mixture of NRM, Environmental Science and Hydrography. My most recent employment was with Wheatbelt NRM in Northam as a project delivery officer in the Sustainable Industries team where I was responsible for coordinating and delivering a number of agricultural trials.

I have also worked throughout the NT for over ten years, including Melville Island (Tiwi Islands) as a Land Evaluation Officer in the forestry industry and in Kakadu National Park as a Hydrographer for Ranger Uranium Mine.

My interests outside of work include designing and making timber furniture (particularly out of recycled timber), trying to play golf and gardening. I have been very fortunate to work and live in some amazing places around Australia and I consider the Serpentine Jarrahdale region to be one of them and think we will enjoy living here for a long time.

Feel free to pop into the Landcare SJ centre to say hello.
