On Sunday 19th August Friends of Brickwood planted 400 native seedlings in two degraded areas of Brickwood Reserve. The event was organised by SJ Landcare and Landcare staff assisted with the planting.
Brickwood Reserve has 41 hectares of beautiful bushland so special that it is protected under a Federal Act of Parliament. It is on the National Trust Register as one of the largest and most intact examples of a critically endangered threatened ecological community on the Swan Coast Plain.
It is bounded by Mead Street, Warrington Road and Soldiers Road with access to walking trail from Warrington Road.
Walkers will see wildflowers, birds and kangaroos.
