‘Spring into Armadale’ ramble: Cardup Reserve

Please join Wildflower Society of Western Australia (Armadale Branch) and Landcare SJ for a captivating Cultural and Floristic Guided Walk at one of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s most pristine and beautiful nature reserves. Learn about the beautiful Fauna and Flora of Cardup Nature Reserve (Bush Forever site #352), a sprawling 70-hectare area that showcases the region’s natural splendour.

Within the reserve, you’ll encounter a remarkable expanse of 48 hectares of 20b TEC Banksia woodland and 3b floristic communities, both of which are in Very Good to Excellent condition. This makes Cardup Nature Reserve an invaluable space for conservation efforts, offering numerous benefits to the community.

Thanks to the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program, the project “Protect and Enhance Threatened Ecological Communities in Cardup Nature Reserve” received funding. This initiative focuses on crucial conservation activities such as flora and weed surveying, as well as Phytophthora dieback treatment and mapping. Through these efforts, we aim to preserve and enhance the ecological integrity of the reserve.

As part of this project, we are thrilled to present a Cultural and Floristic Guided Walk facilitated by the WA Wildflower Society. This unique walk provides both the local and broader community with a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the reserve’s cultural and floristic significance. Explore the diverse flora and learn about the rich heritage of the area, guided by experts who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.
