Get involved in hands-on environmental action!
The Junior Landcare program connects Landcare SJ with local schools, youth groups and young people in the community, helping foster meaningful and lasting connections with the natural environment around them.
Our program aims to inspire curiosity, care and a strong sense of belonging to the local environment, while encouraging young people to actively participate in protecting and restoring it.
Throughout the year, Junior Landcare offers a range of regular programs and activities that give young people the opportunity to:
- Get outdoors and connect with nature
- Learn practical environmental skills
- Contribute to real community projects
- Meet like-minded young people
- Explore pathways into environmental careers
Programs are designed to support participants of different ages and experience levels, while encouraging members to grow and develop through the program over time.
Junior Landcare SJ focuses on three key stages:
CONNECT with local natural areas
ACT through hands-on involvement
LEAD by creating projects, sharing ideas and exploring future career pathways
