Neil Kentish

Board Member

Neil has been farming at Keysbrook and Serpentine since late 1960’s, running cattle
and sheep, after his dad Lance ‘showed him the ropes’.

He has been constructing Contour Banks (20km) on the different farms to use the runoff rainfall to rehydrate the soils, and keep the water where it falls.

Neil also has constructed many Leaky Weirs in the local Karnup Creek since the mid 1960’s to also rehydrate the soils and has been very successful with this action.

He has also been ‘deep ripping’ paddocks to allow water and air to filter down the soil profile after many years of animal and machinery compaction.

Neil has extensive experience at planting seedlings, on the farm paddocks for shelterbelts and for timber production and local sub divisions.

Neil has been a hands-on person with the natural environment of the area and is very passionate with SJLC inc.
